Back for its 10th year, Allerdale Borough Council’s hugely popular Taste Cumbria food festival in Cockermouth promises to be another mouthwatering event.
Xocolate are delighted to be attending, and will be positioned in Market Place as part of the 'Makers' Market', which offers smaller artisan businesses a place to showcase their wares. The organisers have decided to give this a broader flavour of what Cumbria has to offer, so there will be crafts, plants and homewares. Market Place will also host a street party into the evening with food and drink businesses serving the likes of fresh pizza, authentic Italian and tasty British fare.
All day and into the evening of Saturday, September 28 and Sunday, September 29, with launch events on the Friday night, the town will be filled with food and music as the event will this year merge with the Northbound festival which features performances from some of the best local bands.
The main Taste Cumbria festival always includes a big producers’ market on Main Street with 80 stalls selling everything from bread and cheese to cakes and gin. The Taste Cumbria Demonstration Stage will also be based here with some fabulous food and drink experts showing off their skills. The hot food court will move to Memorial Gardens where live bands will entertain the visitors on the Northbound stage all day and into in the evening on the Friday and Saturday. Workington’s Tractor Shed Brewery will serve a host of local beers and ales. There will also be plenty of children’s activities and rides.
